hello, i have a new SHD and was listening to music for about an hour. then, while searching through the settings, i was disconnected from the SHD (LAN by wi-fi) and a chime was playing over my speakers every 10 seconds.

I did a power cycle, nothing changed. pulled the dongle, changed the inputs, etc, still cannot connect to the local volumio page, even though my network shows the SHD connected to it. When i try to connect to the SHD, I get a message saying the connection was refused.

Also, I have not been able to connect by USB at all. Windows says the device is not recognized, and the driver install never seems to complete. I'm really hoping my unit is not defective. '

So, I have two main issues:

1. Connecting by LAN
a. When LAN input is selected, there is a chime tone repeating every 15 seconds or so. See attached video
b. When I attempt to connect to the SHD on my network, I receive an error message stating the following: This
site can’t be reached The connection was reset ERR_CONNECTION_RESET
2. Connecting by USB
a. After going through the install wizard I receive a number of strange message boxes, see attached images.
b. SHD does not show up as an option as a playback device in my audio device settings

So there we have it. I’m hoping someone can help with these issues.

Your USB install message boxes appear normal. As long as you disconnected the SHD from the computer the driver should have recognized the SHD when it was reconnected. If you right click on the start menu and select Device Manager it should appear as SHD Series under Sound, video and game controllers and obviously should be available as a sound device.

As for the LAN problems, can you try a wired network connection? Have you tried connecting by IP address rather than name?

When I reconnect to the PC, windows throws up an alert that the device cannot be recognized and has malfunctioned. see attached photo SHD does not show up in device manager.

In regard to the ethernet, I get the same error as with wifi. I can see it on the network, but I cannot connect to it by IP either

Flashing the MicroSD card in the streaming card was the solution to the LAN issue.

Back up and running, but no USB solution yet. I will be attempting to use a different laptop, and also a Mac to see if any luck.
