The compressor feature is some kind of interesting, but not really usable for home hi-fi.
Struggling to correct a pair of pretty bright speakers using only EQ thought that will be a very nice feature to can put a compressor only for specific frequency bands. In the most cases applying EQ is not what i am are looking for. Its a dynamic issue and i want just to roll off the peaks.

I'm a bit confused by your post. In my experience if a system sounds too bright this is an issue both for quiet and loud passages of a piece of music. As such, EQ would be what is needed rather than some sort of frequency dependent compression. Unless perhaps there is some high frequency distortion occurring at high levels? Have you tried making any time-gated measurements to assess what the speaker is doing?

Frequency dependent compression is not something I've come across and on the face of it sounds like a bad idea that would be difficult to implement, so I'm not surprised the miniDSP haven't.

It depends what the sort of the problem is. Are the treble overall to high or is just a strange behavior and non linearity of the system that amplify the peaks.
Audio software has such effects.

Have you tried making frequency sweep measurements at your listening position for a range of volumes? This will allow you to distinguish between these two issues. If it turns out your problem is the second one you should really be looking for new speakers I think.
