1.052 but the performance was similar with the previous one too.

In case it's relevant I'll say that I connect to my SHD using a Chrome browser window on both my Windows 10 laptop and Android 10 phone, not using a Volumio App.

From your post it also sounds like your issue may actually be different to that in the first post but let me check. Are you just experiencing an issue with the web interface or does the music stop playing unexpectedly as well?

I just made the test, having the device next to router does not help. In the normal configuration distance between SHD and router is about 6 m and they are in opposite sides of the same room, which is why I have not considered distance being the problem.
The issue is in both, web interface and music stop playing. When the web interface freezes, music may continue playing a minute or two afterwards, which I guess is just buffer running out. Also the web interface does show constant drop outs just by having it idle.

While having the device next to router, I connected it using an ethernet cable and that seems to work. So far the web interface has been stable and it keeps playing songs. I cannot confirm music since speakers are not connected, but I would guess output is fine.

FYI I tried that (put a WAP right next to the Studio), made no difference. The problem is software bugs in the Volumio kernel.

Thanks Ultrasonic, good to know, You're using a later kernel build than the last one I tried before I switched to an AES setup.

Volumio said they'd get everything fixed and apparently they did. The problems I reported were with an early version (1.038). I never tried any updates after I switched to the AES setup.

Version 1.038 had the same problems on RJ45 and wifi. Those problems are reportedly fixed in later releases.

I managed to go around the problem by bridging an old router to my wifi network and then using an ethernet cable to connect SHD to the router. So, far more complicated wireless solution than I was thinking of, but at least streaming works now.

Congrats Kajan, glad to hear that. If you'd still prefer a cleaner solution, I wonder if the stock Studio dongle was the problem (low cost, low sensitivity, small antenna). In my room its reception falls off rapidly after just a few feet. You could try replacing it with a dongle that has a bigger antenna (more sensitivity). The same vendor that makes the stock dongle also makes a model with a bigger antenna which would be a good place to start.

I think that would not help. I tried placing the device few cm from the router without any change in behavior.

Hi, I want to stream YouTube sound to the SDH Studio. How do I do that?

With USB connection between SHD and laptop it is simple. However I don't have a USB connection when using YouTube.

My SHD Studio is connected with ethernet. I also have the SHD connected over Wifi with a dongle.

Still I can't figure out how to send YouTube sound to the SHD.

I watch YouTube videos on my TV and use a TosLink output on the TV to connect to my SHD.

What are you wanting to have playing YouTube when you hear the sound via your SHD?

When I'm viewing YouTube videos on my laptop I would like to "cast" them to the SHD. Like you can with Chromecast audio to a hifi system.
