After following the Dirac (v2) instructions for the MiniDSP SHD to the letter and loading the resulting data into one of the slots there is zero difference in the sound between Dirac on and off. I had no errors along the way, not sure what the issue would be.

I also have a NAD AVR with Dirac 2, same speakers, same amp and Dirac makes a huge positive difference. When I did the curve on Dirac for the MiniDSP I modeled it on the curve I have in place for the NAD so they should sound roughly similar shouldn't they?

As a test, I also tried a curve where I boosted the bass region by a large amount and sent that to another slot on the MiniDSP. Still makes no difference whether Dirac is on or off.

What am I missing?

Cheers,
Robert

@Robert

Mmmh, not sure what this could be... Maybe share your filter that you loaded inside the unit? We can put it in the audio precision to test your configuration. It won't lie... :-)

I'm fairly certain that I went through the Dirac process correctly as I followed the addendum that I downloaded from MiniDSP along with the software and driver. In addition it's exactly the same on my NAD with the exception of having to initiate the Dirac program via the MiniDSP controller app.

In any case, the speakers measure incredibly flat and I suspect that Dirac is simply not making substantial differences to the curve. I need to go back and spend some time with this again - it was probably my being in a hurry that lead me not to concentrate closely on the audible differences.

Cheers,
Robert
