Dear All,

maybe I am the only one but I am waiting for a simple feature for quite some time ...

I am using the latest SHD SW for the raspberry PI (1.015 from Feb 2019) it seems but still dont see a working network discovery via the volumio app.
It seems we still have to rely to static IPs -- which is not really what most users would expect and are able to handle.

Any feedback would be highly welcome.

best Thomas

I am using the iOS Volumio app but there seems to be an Android app as well.

@Thomas

We're unfortunately unsure as to what is the issue here.. :-( We're running the latest Volumio on our Android, our IoS and can control our SHD fine with the latest version of Volumio App from Playstore/Appstore... That's how we control our platforms here in the whole office and we know lots of customers control the SHD with it as well.

We're confused by that statement "SHD SW for the raspberry PI" (1.015 from Feb 2019) ... We're not using RPI in our platform so if you're request isn't related to miniDSP platforms :-) The SHD version to grab will be handled by the OTA server and have the latest correct/compatible version with the SHD there.

Have you tried to reach out to Team volumio about your issue? Maybe provide some details to a tech support ticket to our team and we can see how we can help.

Sorry - I meant of course the SHD (using the RPI inside).

In fact I am using the latest volumio app on iOS + SDH with latest SW for DSP and streaming module.

my network discovery has never ever worked - always had to find the IP in other ways and had to manually put it in.

I would assume a network discovery via bonjour or SSDP would be standard and should work ?
Or does volumio not support an automatic discovery from their app - that is the question ?

thank you

I have tried the Volumio app and automatic discovery has never worked for me, either. I did put a reserved address into my router, so that the address of the SHD is the same every time, even though the SHD is using DHCP. That way, I can take the SHD to a friend's house without having to reconfigure it.

Ok - good to hear that sbdy else confirms the problem.

Fixing the IP on the router is of course an option (did that as well for some users) - but not nice for standard users who simply would expect the device gets discovered automatically which is really a standard feature these days :-).

I can check the android version later.
iOS volumio version is 1.1.

Are we talking about the same ?
The app is working - but the discovery simply does not work automatically - that is my problem.

Yes, I had the same problem that @Klangzone described. I was using the Volumio app on Android.

Since the only feature that the app adds is auto-discovery, I switched to using a Web browser. Or maybe I should say, I use BubbleUPnP 90% of the time, but when I want to access the Volumio GUI directly, I use a Web browser. The app is in the bitbucket.

Dear All

Thanks much for the feedback as the Volumio app obviously have an issue here that we weren't able to reproduce..
Knowing we have zero control on this issue (App under the control of Volumio team), we'll warn them so they can take over support on this paid app. I'm sure that we'll figure the issue! Thanks again for your patience on this issue. We look forward to fixing it!

FYI, we're running v3.2 on Android 9. We're not running as static IP.

Yes, for the record, the app failed to locate a Raspberry Pi streamer on the same network. Definitely nothing specific to the SHD.

I have v2.652 on Android 7.1.1
could it be that the updated app is not available on older phones?
