Hello!

The official product info states the headphone amp: Cirrus Logic CS43130, which seems like a decent portability focused DAC/amp solution, but only capable of delivering 30mW into 32 ohm, and 5mW into 600 ohm load… But when testing it with Sennheiser HD800, HD650 and Hifi-man He400i it seems to be more capable than that..

Question 1. Does the SHD Studio have any additional amping implementations other than stock CS43130?
Which additional specs are available?

Question 2. Would it be possible / advice-able to use the headphone out as an analogue line output to a more powerful headphone amp? (Maybe by adding some resistance to the signal cable? )

My best Regards! And thank you for an extraordinary good product!

@k979khz

That 30mW is from the chipset, and I believe that it's rated based on the expected level of THD..
When we're putting the unit on the AP, we can actually get 46mW out of that tiny chipset.. :-) That might explain the higher than expected level.

As for another headphone amp with higher output, easiest might be for you to grab an headphone amplifier with SPDIF/TOSLINK input. This way you stay digital.
