My Volumio was working fine.

I switched off the system for a few hours.

On powering up I can't open Volumio anymore from http://minidsp-shd

I tried rebooting my router. The SHD was rebooted also.

Any clues?

didi you set a fixed IP?
can you see the SHD otherwise in your network? e.g. with an IP tool like advanced IP scanner?

I'm on Mac. So advanced IP scanner doesn't work.

This is day one with my SHD, so I am rather lost.

Anyone have any ideas? No LAN connection to the SHD and I can't open Volumio. Any ideas???

Login to the web interface of your router. There should be a page that lists all the IP addresses the router has assigned (using DHCP).

If the SHD is connected to the network it will appear in that list. Copy its IP address and paste that into your browser instead of http://minidsp-shd

If you get that far I suggest you configure the SHD with a static IP address in your router, so it never changes. If you don't know how to do that a quick Google with the make and model of your router should get you a guide that describes how to do it.

Once you've got that working you can create a bookmark in your browser using the IP address.


Secondly, assuming you have a smart phone then there will be plenty of network analyzing apps available for it. Have you tried connecting to the SHD from your phone?

If you're still having problems, move the SHD next to your router and connect it using a network cable you're sure is good.

Good point @overcoat. Check LAN cable, check if lights on router and lan port of shd are on, etc

If you changed the name of your device when given this choise during setup you should look for http://newname.

I installed on my phone Network Scanner which found the IP address of my SHD which I put in the browser and was then able to open Volumio again.

Don't forget to reserve that IP address in your router so it is exclusive for the SHD

Just wondering if the OP tried the .local address? (i.e. minidsp-shd.local)
