Hello
I received my SHD and tried to connect it on my network using ip adress.
I coud see the SHD no problem on the PC interface but I did a mistake in Volumio's setting: I removed cable connection.
Now my SHD is not visible on my network and impossible to open volumio in the local.
My internet box can't see the SHD anymore...
I tried a factory reset and a firmware maj, and the problem remains.
Could you help me please :(

There isn't any setting to remove the wired cable connection. (Only to turn off the DHCP.)
Your unit is still there. I suggest to use your router to search all connected devices and identify the IP address.

Thank you for your reply Dave
However, in Volumio settings it is possible to remove cable connection.
Unfortunately that is what I did.
My device is not onthe network anymore. No IP even with an IP scanner.
I Did a reboot of the router, a reboot of the SHD, I restored to default also and did a Firm MAJ.
It is ok to connect it to my computer with USB but no LAN.

I had a similar problem when the Volumio app had set a fixed IP what caused a conflict with another device on the network.

Contact tech support, they will supply a solution.

I have a similar problem. LAN doesn't work at all, USB, Toslink, etc. works fine. The SHD doesn't show up at all in the DHCP IP address list at all. Looking for a way to reset the SHD to factory defaults to start over with configuration.

Chronology:
- Pulled the most recent user download (v1.10) from the miniDSP site and installed firmware BIN file, SHD package file and Dirac files.
- Set up Volumio using standard setup "minidsp-shd" local name
- Rebooted the SHD and router
- miniDSP never showed up in Volumio app
- Did a lookup of DHCP IP connected clients, did not see the SHD, I rebooted router and SHD a few times. It worked with Volumio using the IP address only a few times intermittently. (IP address 192.168.1.190)
- I changed ethernet cables and router port connected to SHD with no change in result
- I reviewed the router log and found reference to IP address conflict ( I suspected a new wifi smart plug device)
- I disabled the smart plug device and same issue even after bouncing the router and SHD (smart plug off)
- Decided to reset the available IP addresses to a limited range to force the DHCP to refresh the device IP address assignments
- Previous available IP address range 192.168.1.100-254 reset to 192.168-1.100-120
- After bouncing router and all previously connected devices only the SHD would not show up in the DCHP IP address client list
- Now I am unable to see the SHD at any router port and it no longer shows up in the DHCP IP address client list at all.

I would like to know if there is a way to reset the SHD to factor default settings to start the configuration and set up process again to eliminate a set up issue before declaring a bad IP card or software/firmware issue.

Hoping Dev can reply with troubleshooting steps, etc.

I see no capability to do that on my setup. Only disabling of DHCP.

Regardless, I suppose this is a static conflict as Juoiga mentions. No need to contact tech support, just temporarily remove other devices from your router to remove the conflict and then restart and determine the IP address of your SHD unit. You can re-establish communication then and correct the issue.

I did that. I removed everything from the network, and restarted all the devices.
I plugged the SHD first on the network.
The problem remains,
I contact the support for a solution.

Hello, the support found a solution.
It was to to recover the SD card inside the SHD to factory default (format and flash)
Now it is ok!
Thank you to the support team

It's still not clear how you managed to disable the wired ethernet connectivity in the first place. Some sort of command in the Volumio GUI???
Maybe you could explain so other users don't make the same mistake.

Hello Dave.
I can't find the activate/desactivate wired network anymore. Just DHCP ON/OFF. :(
I'm sure I desactivated it, I had also a message like "It's possible your device is not visible anymore" or something like that...

@Dinky

Easiest would be to contact our support team (support.minidsp.com) We can provide you steps to reflash the binary on the SHD as obviously now that you disabled the Ethernet connection, it would be hard to connect to the unit.. :-)
No worries, it's a simple step and we're here to help. Please start a tech support tix.

Dinky,

Could you detail how you flashed the SD card in your SHD?

I have a broken connection also. :(

Thank you so much

Hi,
I copy paste the message the dev team sent me ;)
I did it follow exactly B)

Dev team:
Had you checked in the router admin page, there should be a client connected called “minidsp-shd”, can you see its IP address and try to connect in web browser using this IP address?

Make sure firewall is not blocking in your PC to discover and connect SHD. Try reboot the router and SHD unit with SHD connected to your network via Ethernet cable.

Check in Windows → My Computer → Network → SSDP , a device named “minidsp-shd” should appear, right-click on it, select Properties to check its IP address. Enter this IP address in the web browser to access the Volumio page.

One of possible causes is the LAN in the SHD cannot boot up, are the two LAN port LEDs blinking or light up?

Try unscrew and open the top cover, is the red LED on the small PCB (the one near Ethernet port) bright and blinking? Is the green LED (also near to Ethernet port) light up?

If the red LED is dim, try the steps below to recover the SD card to factory default:

1. Download the image file (.img) from the link below and unzip

updates.volumio.org/nanopineo2/minidspsh...5-nanopineo2.img.zip

2. Power off SHD, unplug the power cord, open top cover (need unscrew with a screw driver) and take out the micro-SD card from the nano-pi (the small pcb with Ethernet port on it)

3. Insert micro-SD card to PC with a card adapter

4. Use a SD card format tool downloaded from scandisk (link provided below) to erase and format the SD card

kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1...on-sdhc%2Fsdxc-cards

5. Use Etcher (can use portable version) to flash the volumio (.img) file into SD card

www.balena.io/etcher/

6. Insert the micro-SD card back into the nano-pi, close the top cover and power up the unit.

Hope this info helps.
Best Regards
