The 2 page "Product Brief - SHD.pdf" on page 2 says:
"Network Audio Streamer - ... USB 2.0 for external Hard drive ..."

Is this referring to the port labeled as "USB Host" on the unit?
Can I plug in an 8 TB hard drive, or some hard drive, to that port, then play music from the hard drive?

In the 89 page SHD user guide, I can not find anything about it. Is more info about this in the user guide?
Please explain more, or tell me what page to see.

There are 2 USB ports, 1 is for control and for the SHD to act as sound device for your computer, this is the type A port, input USB from the input menu. The other is the type B port, to which a USB drive can de attached to use with Volumio, input LAN from the menu. Not sure if thwre is a limit on the size of the drive

@Juoigâ, I think you have the two USB ports mixed up.

The Type B port connects to computer for control & streaming. The Type A port is for attaching a USB flash drive for Volumio.
