From the SHD users guide i read

Digital inputs. Connect digital sources here using optical (TOSLINK SPDIF), coax (RCA SPDIF), or AES/EBU
(XLR) connections. Sample rates from 32 up to 216 kHz are supported. The three digital inputs can be
separately selected with the front panel encoder or the remote control.

And

Analog inputs. Connect one or two analog sources here, using balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA
connections. The two analog inputs can be separately selected with the front panel encoder or the remote
control.

Does this mean I can connect up to 3 "different digital sources" and 2 analog sources that can be selected with a remote?

Is it possible to rename the inputs for the on device LCD display?

@BFOD

You can indeed connect up to 3x digital and 2 x analog. :-)
You can't rename the inputs though. Maybe in the future we can consider.

I think it will be very interesting for future upgrades to be abler to change input names and also to be able to disable inputs. I am thinking in replacing my preamp with a SHD. I think if i can rename sources and disable the unused ones will be great. Then I can change from my CD transport and Internal Streamer without having to go trough all sources.

Consider this simply just as a user suggestion ;-)
