Hey All

So, I tried a 2.5" hdd with the USB port but it didn't work. Not too surprised since the manual mentions specifically usb sticks but figured I would give it a shot. Guessing it doesn't provide enough power for an HDD. To that end, can a POWERD hdd be connecged to that port and be detected?

Also, can the SHD be used as a NAS? I.e, can files be copied over a network TO a hdd attached to the SHD?

Thanks!
Jim

@Jim

Indeed, the USB port won't support powering of a 3rd party drive. It works with a USB key though. Just use a powered drive and you should be fine. We've never tested the SHD as a NAS but doubt it would work as it could overload the onboard ARM now turning itself into a file management for large files. Doubt it will work.
