Could someone let me know if my graphs look fine for auto EQing my dual subs? I've tried looking around online but I can't seem to find anything as a good reference.

Hi, you would probably find it helpful to reduce the scale of the graph ("Limits" in REW). Something like 60 to 100 should work.

Your soundcard calibration doesn't look right (seems to roll off very early).

I'd be inclined to try moving the subs to ese if you can get a better response pre-EQ.

Not sure if that's the type of info you are looking for?

Thank you for the quick reply. Two things:

1. My laptop is like 8 years old. Do you think the sound card in it is the problem for the roll off very early? I'm strongly considering going to buy a creative USB sound card today. I'm using HDMI to connect my laptop to the Pre/Pro and UMIK-1 via USB.
2. I have extremely limited room placement for my subwoofers. Pretty much either the place they are in right now is the thing I can work with. One of the subwoofers is next to my left front channel. And the other is next to my right side channel. Soon I will have space to move that one but only a 1-7 feet along that wall. I thought about stacking them but not to keen on the idea.

So I ran a new measurement. This is before running EQ though. Does it look better?

Sorry I meant 60 to 100 db . although your level has changed now. 10 to 200 along the frequency scale is fine.

If that's how the soundcard is then fine, that is what the cal is for. actually if you are using hdmi and umik then you shouldn't be using a soundcard cal.

I'd suggest first do the eq with the subs as they are. Then you can try doing delay and level changes (pre eq) on one of them to see if there's improvement to be had.

Someone on another forum said:
1. First level match the subwoofers using an SPL meter or UMIK.
2. Run REW "Measure" but not EQ them yet.
3. Run DIRAC Full and save settings.
4. Rerun REW Measure and then compare to the first measurement. There will be a significant difference and a major improvement in SQ.
5. Run EQ and optimize response. Then save the file and import it into the miniDSP parametric EQ output for both subs.

Do you agree with this? Is this good advice?

Perhaps you could provide a link to that discussion and some more info on your system (you didnt say earlier you are using dirac live)?

I don't understand, there is no mention of Dirac at that link.

You are missing the point entirely. You're being too definitive. The guy mentioned running auto setup(like audyssey or YPPAO) on his pre/pro. DIRAC FULL on my pre/pro is essentially an auto tuning of the speakers. So it doesn't matter which one it is. The point of this is that running an auto setup of speakers of any kind and then measuring with REW and auto EQing.

I'm just trying to answer the question you asked.

Anyway, perhaps just go back to my earlier suggestion.
