Hi
I plan to use the PWR-ICE in a sealed enclosure, but in the manual on page 9, 2.3.3 it states "...it may require a separate "sealed" enclosure..." Does this mean that I can put the amp in a subwoofer enclosure if I make a separate, but integrated, small enclosure for the amp? I plan to put it in a Dayton SWC-2CO 2.0 ft Subwoofer Cabinet with Cutouts. The cutout for the plate amp is 10"x 10" so I have to do some modifications in order to fit the PWR-ICE.

Yes, you're entirely correct. For a sub, you'd indeed want to make sure that you're building a sealed enclosure so you don't have any low frequency leaks @ high pressure.

Thanks for the reply!
How small can the enclosure be? Does the unit need air around or is all the heat transfer through the backplate?

I'd recomment to have some venting holes below and above the PWR-ICE module. While the Ice-Power Amplifier has a high efficiency it still produces some heat (you may have noticed the heatsink on the board) and the cooler it stays the better ;)
kind regards, Daniel

OK, thanks.
That means I have to make the enclosure big enough to fit two small slits.
