@ Snugman,

Unfortunately Acourate is expecting too many taps whenever it's building its FIR structure... We'd have to look at something else that is a bit more "resource" friendly.

AFAIK you can window and truncate the impulse response in Acourate before exporting it. Thus it should probably work. I'd recommend to take a look at rephase too. It's completely "manual" (no automatic inversion of impulse response) but thats the trick ;)

@curryman
thanks for the rephase hint. I was not aware so far.

@all
I found out from Uli Brueggeman that acourate can build filters for the DRC series, so there should be a way for the PWR-ICE as well. I will find out once the plugin is ready.

Regards

Hello,

We are testing the ice plate amp for a special project and i have few questions:

- is the 250asx2 version will be available soon?
- what is the most popular solution to seal the enclosure from the module (plateamp is leaking badly)
- let's say i want to use one plateamp per side, how do i connect them if the source is analog (is the daisy chain works?)

Thank you

Jon

Hi Jon

Hello,
- what is the most popular solution to seal the enclosure from the module (plateamp is leaking badly)

I don't know about most popular, but FWIW I built a separate sub-enclosure into the Mini Convertibles - www.hifizine.com/2013/09/the-mini-conver...-loudspeaker-design/

Here's a cross-section to illustrate:

- let's say i want to use one plateamp per side, how do i connect them if the source is analog (is the daisy chain works?)

I'm not sure I quite understand. If you are using analog, use a Y-splitter. The daisy chain is for the digital signal.

HTH :)

Hello John,
Thank you for the reply it's well appreciated.

So there is no ''easy'' solution to seal the plate amp, am i right ? No ABS injected mold that is cheap and not volume-consumming B)

About the daisy chain aes-ebu, i was secretely hoping that would work with the analog input as well (i.e. analog input, then converted in digital, then before any DSP to the aes-ebu output...) but it's not. So it makes things more difficult i guess :(

finally, any news about the 250asx2 version ?

Hi again,

So there is no ''easy'' solution to seal the plate amp, am i right ?

If you're making the box, it's easy enough to build a sub-enclosure at the same time. Maybe you're trying to do something else, modify something already existing?

About the daisy chain aes-ebu, i was secretely hoping that would work with the analog input as well (i.e. analog input, then converted in digital, then before any DSP to the aes-ebu output...) but it's not. So it makes things more difficult i guess :(

?? If your source is analogue just run analogue cables... The digital link makes sense if your source is digital... It's confusing what you are trying to do :)

finally, any news about the 250asx2 version ?

Haven't seen anything about it in a while, perhaps devteam will be along to give an update.

Looks like the 250 one is out. Unfortunately, no news about OSX software or a firmware update for auto on/standby.

@ DS1, we haven't had a chance to look into the OSX version since this is a complete new requirements in terms of connectivity compared to a USB product (supported on Mac/Win). I guess that over time, as we add more IP based product, we indeed plan to put that feature on our todo list! :-)

@ ctrlaudio, the design of the board is as such (Digital link is only for digital input). Not much we can change unfortunately.

devteam - how tough is it to have USP in addition to ethernet? This would solve OSX issues

@ knuckle_head,
Unfortunately, not easy since the hardware board is already done and there is no USB driver solution. The whole firmware/software is also based on IP communication which makes it very hard (i.e. multiconnection) to do something similar with a USB port.

How difficult would it be, then, to swap out a 2x4 balanced kit in place of the on-board processor?

@ knuckle_head,

Icepower amplifier + DSP cards vs miniDSP platforms are VERY different. It just wouldn't be possible technically.
