Here is a new forum section for any pre-sales question you may about the PWR-ICE product line.
Please take the time to read our user manual available on the product page for a good overview of what the product does and how it is configured. Thanks!

As usual, we'll be happy to help answer any of your questions.

Hi,
looks very attractive,
I've downloaded the datasheet and the user manual and I can see some reference to PWR-ICE 250. Could you confirm that the more powerfull version is on the way too ? and if yes, could you confirm that you will be able to keep the same overall size ?

This looks like a great product, however the manual is leading to some confusion for me. The manual explicitly states that the software can be run from both macs and pcs, but the directions only show how to set it up with the PC- is initial setup PC only?

Thanks for your comments guys,

@ Jean Claude, the version based on the IcePower 250ASX2 isn't ready yet. It will be taller though (module is about 2" bigger). Same width. The module is compatible with the current DSP board, so it's more of a matter of getting things started with this module, then we'll release another new product. :-)

@ Alexwoody, not sure where in the user manual it's mentioning that it's Mac compatible (can u please give us the page number? Thanks!) but it's a typo if so. The plate amplifier is currently only Windows compatible. We don't have a bridge application for IoS yet. We'll eventually release it one day.

Hoping this clarifies.

Hi Devteam,
Thanks for the answer,
so I understand that we can count of the 153 mm and something like 280-300mm height width for the future 250

@devteam, page 12 of the manual says "Mac/PC real time control over Ethernet" under the system diagram.

That's a shame, it would have been much more useable for me had it been able to run on OSX

Is it possible to look at packaging this as a kit?

Also for a 3/4way config a 2nd Amp module and DSP on a bigger sized plate?

Are these shipped out of HK or USA?

Please tell me you are making a 3 way plate with 2x125 1x250 - it's impossible to get a 3 way in the market, let alone one with DSP as well... even if it's only a small market you will have it all to yourself if you make it!!

great product and I know it will go well;

I would settle for that as an option too :D

Im looking at a replacement plate amp for a Sunfire True 10" Sub and one of these might just be the ticket!

Also to power a pair of Linkwitz LX521's

What is the gain of the amp when the dsp is flat?

Yes, that's correct. We'd only increase the "height". Width would remain the same. We'll keep you updated when we release one version.
Thanks for your comments.

@ Alexwgoody,

Thanks for noticing that typo. We fixed it in the diagram. We'll keep the community updated when we move to OSX. It's not as plug&play as other USB platform since we need to go back to building a complete OSX based app for ethernet packetization... Anyway, we'll keep updated.

@wizardofoz

Packaging as a kit is a good idea. We can think to add it to the webstore later on. Trying to limit the amount of support for a new product intro since doing a kit will certainly add a LOT of new questions..

@ Murray,

Building a 3way plate amp out of this DSP module unfortunately won't happen now but we can see how we could make it happen though.

To those that have got their units already there was another typo in the manual that put the +/- incorrectly on output 2 as red being - and black +. on page 8. This was noted as incorrect and is now correct in the current version online too.

OK well I have my PWR-ICE125 working in BTL and driving the old Sunfire True Subwoofer MkII - replacing the old dead plate amp.

How does one change the name of the unit as I am probably planning on having more than one of these... perhaps as many as 5 so how does one name then and manage accordingly?

BUG...In the Bandpass Crossover for Output (in BTL mode) the cutoff frequency increment/decrement arrows dont do anything.

A screen grab in the application would be a big help :woohoo:

@ wizardofoz,

- Yes you're correct that the user manual was indeed updated. A big thanks for noticing the typo for the polarity.
- Changing the name is easy: Just edit the text box in front of "NOW CONNECTED TO" in the center of the GUI. Press enter & reboot the plate amplifier. The name will stick as a unique identifier.
- Bandpass crossover UP/DOWN: These are actually disabled by default and should be hidden but we can see how we can enable it again in next rev of plug-in in the future.
- Screengrab: Not sure to understand 100%.. :-) You can save your config - > File / Save. Is that what you mean?
