Hi
I am planing a 3-way speaker system with activ digital Duelund syncron filters. 2 times 2-way speakers and 2 times bass speakers, like 2.2. The system will be rather high senitivity. I would like to use 4xPWR-ICE-125 and feed them digitally through AES-EBU. I have seen the OPEN-DRC-DI sugested for Master Volumecontrol, and it would make sense to use it for roomcorrection also.

QUESTION: Will there be som issues regarding lower sound quality at low volume settings due to reduced bit resolution? Or is the OPEN-DRC-DI taking care of that in the digital domain?

I have noticed this option in the manual: 3.7.1 Output level jumper. This reduces the analog in signal to the ICE-POWER module by 16 dB! That's seems a bit much reduction for low level listening maybe?

Or could I just reduce the output gain in the dsp/plug-in for each driver? Would that reduce the sound-quality?

I hope my question is presented clearly, so that it can be answered.

Thank you in advance.

@ Steffen

Quite some setup.. We look forward to hearing more!
Your idea of openDRC-DI + PWR-ICE via AES-EBU is a great idea. To help for your setup, I'd recommend using the digital volume control inside the DSP (rather than the knob). This way, all plates will be at same level. You can always use the pad for the HF driver as suggested.

Thank You

I have just ordered the whole bunch, 4x PWR-ICE-125 and an OPEN-DRC-DI plus XLR AES/EBU cabels and other things. I think I will start playing with it first, before asking future questions.

By the way, I am going to use my MINIDSP 2x4 plus MINIDIGI to convert my analog signal from my Riaa-preamp to digital.

So my OPEN-DRC-DI will be my new "preamp"! Master volume control and source-selecter. Plus roomcorrection some time.
