I have good experiences with the HD series DSP´s , but i am now considering 3 pcs of PWR-ICE for my frontstage and are very curious of the processing power and dac quality of the PWR-ICE in comparison.

Do anyone have first hand experience and/or can anyone in the Minidsp team or anyone else enlighten me about this?

Best Wishes from Norway

Wrt processing power the overall level of processing on each channel is fairly similar to the 4x10 HD. If you look at the user manual it will give you the details. There is a new plugin release that allows for FIR crossover.

Hi, they won't be the same (8-channel vs 2-channel). Sorry, I don't know which DAC chip is used in the PWR-ICE (if that is the question).

I believe you'll find a CS4272 codec in the PWR-ICE modules. :)

@ RiZLa_7

Dave is indeed correct that the PWR-ICE uses CS4272 while the 4x10/10x10 is using CS42528. Similar specs in that sense both on the DAC and DSP.
