Is it just me, or is there an issue with the PWR-ICE software?

I have the control software installed on a a Windows 7 laptop. This connects using Wifi to an access point. This AP is then connected via a PoweLine (ethernet over AC mains) link to a switch, which then connects to the PWR-ICE125.

Using this network configuration, everything works more-or-less, but the network connection between the laptop and the DSP frequently drops out and requires a re-connect. If I connect the laptop and PWR-ICE using Ethernet directly (two lan cables to the same switch) everything works fine.

Using PING commands, I can see no obvious problems with the Wifi/Powerline connection - there is no packet loss. There is however somewhat larger and variable PING times as one would expect.

It seems that the PWR-ICE software is very sensitive to even the slightest delay over the LAN, and drops the connection without good reason.

Is there anything that can be done about this please?

Not sure as we haven't heard of this before so just a guess..

I think that it's most likely down to the use of the powerline as these things can introduce some serious latency, although not 100% sure. We're using access points for both our demo rooms and tradeshows (live all the times) and haven't seen a disconnection. Have trial at connecting via your Access point and "without the power line". See if that does the trick.

The unit shows live metering, sends constant data to provide real time tuning of the device. It's not impossible that if there is something with long latency, it's messing with the unit..
