Hi,

I purchased a used nanoAVR and woulld like to use it as digital Crossover together with an old Philips DFR9000 6.1 Receiver (with 6 UcD Modules as Amplifier). My Problem: the DFR9000 prompts to just to receive a 2.0 Signal, regardless what I set as Output on the nanoAVR. Any Ideas to solve this?

Thanks,
Sebastian

Maybe I should add some information. The Philips AVR can handle only uncompressed LPCM at 48kHz sample rate. Therefore I purchased a used Pioneer SC 2023 now. This AVR can handle the output of the nanoAVR HD, almost...

If I use an old Google Chromecast Stick as source (streaming Spotify Music), everything is fine. But If I use a CD Player or streaming client connected to a Toslink to HDMI adapter I hear nothing (7.1ch output of nanoAVR) or just the front channels (stereo output from nano AVR).

This is a bit strange as the nanoAVR plugin shows output on all six routed channels...

nanoAVR using Chromcast as Source:

corresponding AVR Display:

nanoAVR using Ligawo Toslink to HDMI converter as Source:

AVR Display when nanoAVR is set to 7.1ch Output (no Signal):

AVR Display when nanoAVR is set to Stereo output (only Signal to front speakers):

The only significant difference is, that the Chromecast provides a 1080p Videostream while the Ligawo Converter provides a 480p 'Video'

Any ideas about this issue?

According to the HDMI 1.3 standard anyway, 720x480p at 60 Hz can only support 8 channels at 48 kHz. I imagine HDMI 1.4 would be the same. So 8 channels at 96k is not allowed with that video rate. It seems that the nanoAVR thinks it is doing it anyway, but the AVR thinks it's not possible and won't turn on audio.

Thank you John!

I only focused in Theorie max. 8ch sampling rate without having in Minden, that this would depend in the Video Stream. I will Test another HDMI Audio inserter and Report the result here...

Thank you again John! I purchased a different HDMI audio Inserter and with a 1080p60 video rate I now can insert the Toslink Signal of my Streaming Client and I get SOUND! :woohoo:
So it took three different audio inserters to come to that conclusion. Unfortunately I need a HDMI Video Source for the inserter, this job is done by the old chromecast right now and that works.

It would be very helpful if the nanoAVR could just provide a blank 1080p Screen if there is no video input... ;)

Cool, glad you got it sorted out! Would you have a link to the one that worked? (might help someone else)

HDMI is a strange beast..

I'd also be interested to hear which one worked for you!

I have the Ligawo Toslink to HDMI 6518772, which works to 96Khz and when plugged directly into my processor it worked fine; however, when I plug into the NanoAVR, I get silence. I will try plugging the Ligawo into the input of my CA CXUHD (like an Oppo bluray) to see if this helps.

I uwe this one:
deleyCON 4K HDMI Audio Inserter... www.amazon.de/dp/B06XRDRHLC?

It is just an OEM product, so might be available under different labels.

I used the Ligawo 6518772 before and because of the 480p Video Stream, my AVR did not accept the 8ch PCM stream.

Ah, cool. Looks very similar to others sold as Blackbird and Bytecc
e.g. www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=13347

Great, I'll try Ligawo one more time on weekend and then order from amazon.de (deliver to UK).
I was looking at this, but it 3x the price:

Hi, just to make sure..
The Ligawo does work without a video and regular 44kHz? Using a sonos system and looking to integrate (mini 2x4 and minidigi today) it into more hdmi sources.
