I have a question about the use of a NanoAVR DL with 7.1 lpcm on a system which only accepts 5.1...

Without the NanoAVR, my preamplifier says to the player to send 5.1 lpcm max.

With the NanoAVR, the information is lost and my player sent 7.1 lpcm.
But my preamplifier doesn't like 7.1 and output only 2.0...

If I configure the NanoAVR on 5.1 channels, my preamplifier is Ok (and output 5.1).
But my scaler says the player always sent 7.1 lpcm.
So what happens to channels 7 and 8???

A method to force the NanoAVR to say it accepts 5.1 lpcm max???

The problem is the same with a stereo hdmi amplifier or a stereo tv.

Normally they says to the source thay accepts 2.0 only.

And the player downmixes 7.1 or 5.1 to 2.0.

But the NanoAVR seems to block the information and player send an wrong signal.

A solution ?

I solved the problem with a DrHdmi from HdFury : it learns from the preamplifier the limitation at 5.1 lpcm and connected before the NanoAVR, always maintains the information for the Oppo.
Works, but 80$ more!
