It's is how I've been doing it so far.....just makes sense.

All the bass is gone from all the 5.0 speakers once the AVR speaker settings are set to large. Something I need to now do in the software?

Because you have a high pass filter, the signal at the frequencies where these filters are is already being reduced. If you had a large peak in the response below the crossover, then it is probably worth using the PEQ to cut it down. With that said, it doesn't really matter that they are there either, as a general rule I wouldn't bother though (just saves time and makes things easier if you move the speakers a bit, say).

So if your HTPC produces content in the rear surround channels, at the moment it goes nowhere. If you set up the routing like in the screenshot below then it will go to the left and right surrounds.

There is no need to disconnect anything, you can just mute the channels in the nanoAVR plugin. However you can measure the subwoofer alone by driving the LFE input... see below.

Hmmm.... I'm a bit unclear on what you mean exactly... the bass from the speaker channels is supposed to be coming through the subs. Are you able to use REW to run a measurement sweep through individual HDMI channels - can you run a sweep driving just the LFE channel?

Ok the routing of surround channels ill give a go. But the bass from the 5.0 speakers being gone - they literally have zero bass now. Nothing. Even the front L/ R channels which are Elac B5 bookshelves sound like tin cans.

I still however, dont understand about the peq. Shouldnt i apply peq on the 5.0 channels or is the peq being applied at the wrong frequency? Sorry for being so uninformed about this.

The subwoofers work like before now, though. Ill run a sweep and post it once i get the rest working. Or would it help you by posting the lfe sweep asap?

Well, the important thing is to proceed step by step.

1. Get the right LFE response.
2. EQ the speaker channels (without sub)
3. Integrate speakers with Subs.

Regarding the PEQ on the speaker channels: once you have the LFE EQ'ed, you will probably find further EQ at those frequencies unnecesary.

Everything now sounds good.

AVR is handling all the xovers so I have disabled then in software. Not sure if its right but sounds ok. Regarding the PEQ on the speakers - on REW should I start the measuring sweep at a higher frequency or something? The L & R are bookshelf speakers, the center and surrounds are Klipsch Quintet 3's. Different PEQ frequencies for different speakers?

I don't understand why you have suddenly changed direction, but in this config you still have the LFE Mgt signal routed to the Sub Out. If you want to do the BM in the AVR, route LFE In to Sub Out (and turn off the LFE Mgt to Sub Out routing).

In your sub measurement, these will be easier to read if you change the vertical scale to say 40 to 100 dB. If that were my system, I'd be trying to figure out why it's 20 dB down at 100 Hz.

Could you show me a config on how I should be doing the LFE Mgt?
