Hi,

I’ve got a bit of a trouble making the Nano AVR HDA working when the connected display (a Toshiba TV) is off. Here’s the setup :

* the final receiver : A Toshiba TV (dont remember the exact model)
* connected to it : the minidsp nano avr hda, with latest firmware (no dirac live).
* a nuforce 8 channels power amplifier (currently, only 3 channels are used, front left and center but that shoud not make any difference).
* source 1 : A linux PC with kodi
* source 2 : A toshiba blu-ray player

Here’s the problem :
* if TV is switched on, everything works perfectly
* if TV is disconnected (hdmi cable disconnected), sound is ok from the PC (didn’t check from the blu-ray player)
* if TV is connected but switched off, here’s the trouble. The sound become really choppy, like it is playing for 1sec then 1sec of blank, then playing again for approximately 1sec, then another blank, and this goes like this indefinitely. In NanoAVRBM, the visualization are not responsive at all, but very laggy, which would suggest the unit is just for some reason eating all its cpu. The blu-ray player does not output any sound (but i suspect it to be a hdcp issue, for now i can live with that since my primary audio source is the pc). I could reproduce the laggy audio playing by switching off the tv during play.

I also regularly get an error in my linux box, which could be related (not sure) which says :
[ 437.128717] [drm:radeon_dvi_detect [radeon]] *ERROR* HDMI-A-1: probed a monitor but no|invalid EDID

This error is not related to whether sound works correctly or not, but is suspicious (doesn’t happen if i connect the pc directly to the tv). I guess the nanoavr by itself does not send an edid, and has problems forwarding the one of the TV. And if i restart the computer after it happens, i lose both hd display (only get a standard 1024x768 default resolution) and audio (seems the video card doesn’t report the audio output to be available)

What i would like :
* sound works correctly from the PC when the TV is switched off (the same as when it is disconnected)
* no more EDID errors

Any ideas ?
I already tried switching hdmi cables, but this didn’t solve the issue.

Can you please double check that you're indeed using the latest firmware file from our user download section?
It sounds like something that was already solved by our team in latest firmware.

Yes, indeed, the latest firmware (1.30, i was using 1.29) solves this issue.
