In other words : is there a problem with nanoAVR function if the HDMI data content, coming from the Graphic board of the HTPC, includes only the audio PCM 7.1 without the video data ?

For HDMI signal, audio content cannot be transmitted if there is no video content transmitting, so audio content must always come with a video content even if the video content may be just a blue screen only.

So if you can do this:

Graphics card -> HDMI cable -> hdmi splitter -> HDMI cable -> amp

and you can get the sound, then most likely:

Graphics card -> HDMI cable -> hdmi splitter -> HDMI cable -> nanoAVR-DL -> HDMI cable -> amp

you should also get the sound provided that the video resolution and sampling rate can be supported by nanoAVR-DL.

Hope this info helps.
