Systems : I have two source players NVIDEA SHIELD and a BluRay Player connect to a Cambridge AVR CXR120 which then goes to my speakers which is a 5.1 setup of full range speakers (Focal) . So its not a pre and power configuration but just an AVR.

If I use the nanoAVR DL between so that the SHIELD HDMI out goes to naonAVR DL HDMI in 1 and the BluRay into HDMI in 2 and the HDMI from the nanoAVR DL to AVR HDMI in.

Q1) What happens to the video signal, the source players have only 1 HDMI so is video passed through untouched through the nanoAVR DL ?
Q2) Does raw bit stream out for audio out on HDMI suffice or is there anything else to check. My source only shows raw bitstream audio over HDMI so I suppose tat means LPCM 5.1. I normally use it this way and get my receiver to do the pre-processing and I do see the correct audio stream of Master Audio or Dolby TrueHD as the case may be ?
Q3) Will the nanoAVR DL work for both LFE as well as the surround channels or do I need to add naonAVR_BM for bass management
Q4) I suppose the receiver will continue to see the source as bitstream and use the necessary decoding for Master Audio and Dolby True HD even when the inout is through the naonAVR DL ?
Q5) When taking the configuration measurements I suppose all channels including LFE is to be set to full range, large and 0 DB. Only aspect to be done prior is the placement of speaker . Am i right in my understanding on the pre measurements using a Umik 1 and the Dirac software.

Hi, bitstream is an encoded proprietary format. The nanoAVR (DL/HD) can not read it. LPCM is linear PCM which is unencoded data, which the nanoAVR can read. You have to be able to set your source to output (multichannel) LPCM to use with a nanoAVR.

The nanoAVR will output LPCM audio, together with the video from the selected input. (A read through the manual may help ;) )
