TOPIC:

I just got my Nanoavr DL and i have a problem concerning wich channel the LFE is on.
When you use Asio and Rew the LFE is on ch4 and if you use DL on Pc you can change the ch so the LFE goes out on ch4.


But on Nanoavr DL you cant do it and LFE is on nr3 and C on nr4 and since i use Asio in JRiver i dont get the 10db boost.
I have tried Wasapi, Kernel, default in JRiver but no boost.
The strange thing is that the center works fine its only the 10db boost that im missing.
Im not saying that the ch thing is the problem, but there is a problem.
(you can swap ch on the NanoDL but its on my Pc lfe is on nr4)

I also have a NanoAvrHD taking care of BM but it dosent matter if i have it before/after NanoAvrDL
If i only use my NanoAvrHD it works Great with Asio and Rew/JRiver.

The last thing i did was to take out the NanavrHD and use BM in my receiver, but of course the result is the same.

So, is there a way to solve this?

It might work if you use both LFE and BM in the NanoAvr HD

Hi, as I recall when you use a PC/etc to drive the HDMI input the center and sub are swapped. I don't know why but it does all just work.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean about the 10 dB boost. When mixing for BM, the speaker channels need to be mixed 10 dB lower than the LFE. I think there's an app note for the nanoAVR HD with the routing matrix.

When calibrating for Dirac Live, you'll need to use the 5.1 or 7.1 configuration. I believe this (I'd have to think more about it to be sure) is the case regardless of which "order" you have the units connected. Be aware that the 5.1 and 7.1 types do not add 10 dB gain in Dirac - what they do is calibrate for 10 dB higher level as measured by the microphone. (In other words, there has to be 10 dB gain somewhere, but it doesn't have to be in the Dirac Live processing itself.)

PS. Yes, this is different than the case when using the DDRC-88A/BM. So whatever you read about that unit doesn't necessarily apply to this setup

Its the ch swap that's the problem
The Nanoavr HD has the correct setup regarding BM (including -10db on all the ch and LFE on 0db) and if I only use that unit everything is ok.
Its when i put the Nanoavr DL in the signal chain it happends and its logic that it does because of the ch swapping.
I have tried to use Auto mode, 5,1 and 7,1 with the same result.

I did a quick test last night with both BM and LFE activated on the NanoavrHD and it just might work correctly!

Oh yea you can do it
In the routing panel you activate BM and the LFE.
It could be that I have to have two configs on the HD depending on the source, Blu ray or Pc.

One more thing that's easy to forget, with this setup ist that you should have the HD after the DL.
Otherwise you don't have any BM at all during the calibration!

Well, this aint fun at all!
I cant solve it....

when i do the mesaurement i see that the LFE is higher, both in DLCT and on the NanoHD
But when i verify in REW LFE have the same lvl as the rest.

I might have solved this in a strange way.....

Signal chain, and this is my normal setup Before NanoAvr DL
PC/Blu ray
NanoAvr DL
NanoAvr HD (BM in standard fashion)
Reciever (No BM)
Filters
Amps

If i do a measurment in DLCT it Always ends up with the LFE 10db short.
But if i add 10db in in the BM on nanoavrHD AFTER the measurment is done, all is good
Now to the strange thing, if i do a measurment with the extra 10db, its back to the problem with LFE loosing 10db.

Any bright idea's?

What system type are you using - 5.1/7.1 or Custom?

Custom doesent and any boost from what i have Heard, but i have tried that to.

* What do the speaker channels look like (i.e. is the subwoofer level correct there)?
* If you measure using REW into the nanoAVR DL what do you get?

I am not sure what you mean with "design screen" but if i monitor the DLCT sweaps on the other Nano and in the DLCT it self i see that the volume on the LFE sweap is correct (+10db)
The BM lvl are correct and verified with REW (with Nano DL disconnected)
In the screen where i set my target curve i only smooths things out and the target highest point in the bass is the same as the measured signal.

A strange thing is that BM and Center ch are of with 5db.

But i havent verified this with REW, the sats are of with 2db in BM.

I get this result (for some reason it only added 5db this time)

If i use Dirac live on Pc there aint any issues at all and i can even import a Pc Project in the Nano DL and it works!!

I think i have to Contact the support......

I just veried that adding 10db in BM gives med 10 more db
And if raise the lfe target curve in DLCT it also adds more volume but the curve becomes more jagged.

Who stole my 10db!

And now i know.....
If have the Nano DL in the signal chain i loose my 10db!

Red and blue is with nano DL in the signal chan - DL bypassed
Purple and black is without Nano DL in the signal chain.

This Cant be OK!?
