Hi guys

Did someone succeed in playing music files from a PC HDMI output through a nanoAVR HDA unit ? Please, say YES !

As for now, I can't.

Thanks for your answers.

I'm not a regular PC user but there's no reason it shouldn't work. You would have to post a little more specific information than "I can't" if anyone was to help ;)

Thank you very much John for answering.
I only wanted to know if, yes some succeeded.
In that case (the yes option), I would have gone further, what is not necessary if nobody performed that way.

Anyway, here is what I wrote to the DevTeam:

let me now answer every point step by step

-a) USB only, yes; All .net installed, checked last versions-
-b) My audio chain (same one as used before with my sound interface, all DSP soft-based) : PC (Gigabyte Brix, no screen, remotely driven by TeamViewer); I usually use Foobar, but tried VLC for checking with a more simple reader), only one HDMI, no compressed output format; then the nanoAVR HDA, the RCA analog outputs to the amps, and finally the speakers.
"AG-D500 isn’t a miniDSP", maybe a clue; but no screen, nor anything else connected.

-c) No other output (HDMI), no screen, no AV unit of any kind. Neither from PC nor from nano unit.
As you can see on the picture, the M led is on, thus all channels muted, so no surprise about no sound coming out the nano unit.
I tried both HDMI inputs, physical connections and by button selection (4 cross-possibilities).
Did you try to toggle on/off from front panel? If you are speaking about power, I have found no way to switch on/off the nano unit , other than disconnecting it from the power unit. If about input switching, see above.

-d) Correct power supply, yes.

What makes me wondering is the lack of connection between the nano plugin and the box itself. If I could (from plugin or in any manner) disable the "All Mute" setting, we could perhaps see the nano box working, don't you think ?

Have you gotten it working? Just asking as I have an HDA on the way and this is my planned config.

I use mac mini / Windows 10 with nanoavr HDA and Jriver as a player. No problem with playing and measuring with usb mic and hdmi output (asio4all) for rew or Dirac. I have not figure out yet how to measure the loopback with Dirac engaged. The only problem I have encountered is HDMI handshake when I turn off my beamer. Sometimes I loose audio and I need to unplug the hdmi cable to make it work.
