I had many problems to integrate NanoAVR-DL into my system.
Finally I started measurements. 3-4 hours later, still not a single one because no matter what I do Dirac always pitch the same message :
level too low.
And it is only the first mic. position. I never could go further.
I read 10 times the procedure in the manual. And thread in a forum. Every time I began with the blue line in the green zone. I tried to increase the main volume either of my ROTEL or the Nano. I changed the preferences settings in Windows 10 in pushing the level to 100% or lowering it to 0%.
Even one time, I set the output level in Dirac at -7.5db risking to burn out one speaker because Dirac showed clipping in the measurement. Even then, I got "Level too low"
My Umik come from Minidsp and I loaded the 90degree file. The mic has gain 18db .Does it do a difference ?
Please help it would greatly appreciated.

On the Output&Levels page, is the blue line in the green zone for all speakers?

yes after adjusting the front left level, I check all others, all bullzeye on -12, subwoofer included

So you get the "too low" error at the end of the first set of sweeps (sound plays through each speaker in turn, then through front left again)?

During the sweeps, did sound come from all speakers? The screen should data for all speakers like in the manual:





I'm assuming the answer to both questions is "yes" in which case I have no idea... Perhaps a support ticket will be needed to solve this - minidsp.desk.com

You are right. Yes to both questions. More: during the first measurement I saw the bar with frequencies beeing made along the process till the end of the second left front speaker sweep.
Since one week I have spent more than 15 hours trying to set Dirac and it does not work. I am desappointed. Because of Minidsp no return policy I am afraid to have spent a lot of money in vain .
I have start a ticket. Hopefully they will fix that.

I've never had a problem like that with the nanoAVR DL, so it's a mystery why that would be happening but I'm sure miniDSP will help you sort out what is going on

Yeah, it is my curse with computers... not the first time "I never seen before " thing.

Finally saved my first project with Dirac Live cal tool.
Thanks to tech support for their solution that I will share here.

Before, I must to say that I am confused with it because I followed religiously the user manual. In particular, page 23 where it is pointed out that the sound system (button in the first page of Dirac Live calibration tool) to be selected is the number of channels passing through the nanoavr-dl not the number of speakers driven by the AVR. I have a 5.1 speakers system but my bluray player output hdmi are 7.1.

I changed this setting in Dirac by clicking on the button 5.1 instead of 7.1 and voilà.

My only fault (sin !?) was having followed the manual.
It is difficult to computer dinosaures like me to guess when it is time to not follow instructions !
By chance, tech team was there.

Um, that makes sense only if you don't have down-mixing turned on in the AVR. Switching to 5.1 calibration is not really a great solution as you won't have EQ applied to any content in the rear surround channels. [Edit: in your current scenario, you won't hear it at all in fact.]

make certain you have this checked in your SOUND/RECORDING properties
