MiniDSP nanoAVR is locked to 7.1 output no matter your output configuration.

*Suggested FIX*
The unit needs to output 2 channel / 5.1 channel / 7.1 channel

Examples:

MiniDSP NanoAVR should only output 2 channels (Receiver or processor should only see a 2 channel source, not 7.1)

MiniDSP NanoAVR should only output 5.1 channels (Receiver or processor should only see a 5.1 channel source, not 7.1)

MiniDSP NanoAVR should output 7.1 channels (like it currently does)

*With any "OTHER" configuration the MiniDSP NanoAVR should output 7.1 channels as a fail safe.

I have had my theater room apart for a long time and will be putting it back together soon and wanted to know if this has been fixed yet?

If you update your plugin, you'll see that you can set the HDMI output mode to 2, 4, 6, or 8 channels, or to Auto. In Auto mode, the number of output channels is signalled the same as the number of input channels. AFAIK it's independent of the routing table.

PS. I believe the onboard firmware will need to be updated as well. The firmware file and instructions should be in the download.

@ SWOK,

You're running both an old version of plug-in AND a very old version of the firmware. These were indeed fixed a long time ago as suggested by John.
Please go to your user downloads, update the firmware as per manual, update your plug-in (you'll loose settings so need to do again) and have a trial at the HDMI mode.
