Have Philiph BDP-7700 as player connected to nanoAVR connected to Onkyo NR626 receiver

Works great with some Blurays but with some ( David Gilmour at RAH, John Mayer where the light is, and Joe Bonamassa at RAH ) i dont get either video or audio
The player runs but no pic & sound!!

I have to take out the BD , shut down the receiver and start up again with a BD that "works"

What could be the reason?

BR
Lars

Hello Lars,

Odd indeed and not sure what it could be but few things to check first:
1) Make sure your Bluray player is setup for 1080p out. Anything else will create issues with mulitchannel due to bandwidth
2) Make sure that your bluray player has 24Hz support disabled. That's an older support for HDMI, can be disabled on all bluray players.

If issue remains after above check, please open a ticket from here minidsp.desk.com/ since forum is only here for basic support. Thanks.

Do you know that most movies on Blu-ray are in 24 frames/s? Disabling this and playing back the movie in other frame rates will most likely introduce artifacts.
It seems to me that the video part isn't that important in your point of view as it doesn't seem like you are fixing the problem or stating that it does not work on your product page.
Video should be played back at the frame rate of the video.

This really needs to be looked into... The nanoAVR really needs to pass 24fps video...

Gents,

They're aware of it. There's a sticky topic up above which addresses this.

@Saarg,

I don't believe that our post got correctly understood. We do care about video else we wouldn't do HDMI products.. :-)
The problem is a bug of the firmware which we are working to investigate and indeed plan to fix. The workaround stated is just a "workaround" in the mean time while our engineering team schedule a fix. Like any of these complex HDMI product (that all brands all the way to fortune 500 have), it's unfortunately the process of seeing the issues till we can fix them. Hoping this clarifies.

Bottom line, as Dave already mentioned, we're aware of it and do plan to fix it. :-)
