Long time SpeakerBuilder going active/dsp.

Setup:

7.1 speakers with
3 way front speaker needing xo
Centerchannel maybe needing equalizing
Sub needing xo / equalizer
Back/surrounds connected directly to bluray

Source: bluray with analog 7.1 out (xlr on fronts).

What minidsp unit to Use as pre-amp with system remote/master volumen from the bluray via its analoge out.
I prefer diy boards.

I think 8x8 looks ok for my purpose but maybe there is a better choice. SQ has to be top notch...

Hi,

Just to clarify, are you planning to do 3way active? Easiest to draw a simple diagram of your setup to calculate how many in/out you need.
7.1 in, xx OUT.

I've put the subject in minidsp beginners, maybe better place for this?

How about using a 10x10HD processor? You can input L, C,R and sub, and just output 3way stereo (6ch), center + sub = 8 x processed outputs. More examples here:
