My audio chain consists of Bluesound Node to Peachtree Gan 1 power dac/amp. The GAN 1 only has an RCA digital input. I would like to place my Flex RCA between the two but its only digital output is USB. Is it possible to use a USB to S/PDIF converter on the USB output of the Flex, then go from there to the GAN 1? Thanks in advance.

Hi - I needed a SPDIF-USB and back converter to transfer CD's form a TASCAM CD-recorder to my MAC Mini and back. I found this 24-bit USB Audio Interface with Coax & Optical digital inputs&outputs + L+R analog.
" ESI U24 XL "
Right now I still have not been able to establish a firm connection. It could be my system - it's a M1.
A mail to ESI support assured me that they will work with any system.
But I will probably sell it and work with 2 TASCAMS.
Hope this helps. Take care.

I tried this because I need a digital S/PDIF output.

Douk Audio U2 XMOS XU208 Digital Interface, USB to TOSLINK Coaxial/Optical Audio Adapter, for DAC/Preamp/Amplifier, Support PCM & DSD64 (Upgrade Version): Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

Like you I have not yet been able get everything to talk with each other through it. That's a project for this weekend.

So I contacted ESI in Germany again and they sent me a detailed setup plan for my project - and IT WORKS !!!
The problem was in different configurations inside the software of my Mac-Mini.
I see and hear no degradation of any digital signal that goes through the U 24 - I don't use analog.
And the way it is built it should be working for you and your needs.
Maybe you could contact them ( google: " esi-audio.com " ) and ask if it could be the right choice for your setup.
Take care and good luck.
