Hi Everyone,

I have seen this issue posted about and tried some of the solutions offered, but none have worked for me and I'm at a loss. I have a 17' x 14.5' room with Revel F206 towers spaced about 3 feet from the side and back wall respectively. Couch is on the rear wall, 17ft is the length of the room.

I have tried both the 0 degree and 90 degree mic calibration files for my UMIK-1, and both produce similar results. Compared to Dirac Off, with Dirac enabled, the center image is shifted WAY (like 3-5 feet) upward and to the right. The center image is also very diffuse compared to Dirac off. This is really disappointing, because I find the FR adjustments to be accurate and pleasing, but the destruction of a coherent center image and soundstage is too much to bear.

Please, someone tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I don't use Dirac but in terms of your listening couch being on the rear wall is not ideal for listening and measuring. Try moving couch out from wall 2 to 3 feet even if its just for listening. Its important as sound hits back wall and dispersed randomly. To test this sit on a dining chair at various distances from main speakers to rear wall. The best sound should be where the most free space is from walls.

For serious listening I have 6 feet from the back wall. Also speaker positioning has a large influence on images. But your 3 feet to side walls is a good start but how much between speakers this is important for image.

Experimentation is key for speaker and listener position's before attempting Dirac.

My 2 cents.
