I have been keeping an eye on the upcoming Flex HT as a replacement for my janky linux 'dsp' box. It seems like it ticks all the boxes, but one thing I could see as potentially problematic is downmixing

I like a good loud stereo downmix with compressed dynamic range (equivalent of Kodi 'Maintain original volume on downmix') and LFE included. I see there is a matrix feature which will allow for this, but I am wondering what happens when the Flex HT is fed a stereo or 5.1 input instead of 7.1, if I set up the matrix for a 7.1 input?

Do you have to have profiles for each input channel configuration and manually switch between them to get a correct downmix, or does it handle this automatically?
