TOPIC:

Setting up the balanced Flex with minidsp provided phono to balanced cables on the main speakers, phono to rca on the subs. I went through the Dirac Live setup (excellent) but the unit has sound output on channels 1 & 2 for the main speakers, but nothing comes out of 3 & 4 for the subs. The DDRC software for the minidsp Flex shows 4 channels, yet when I turn on the Dirac Live software to measure room response, I only get channels 1 & 2, but not 3 & 4? What am I missing???

This is working exactly as expected. The version of Dirac Live on the Flex is the stereo one, so 2-channels only. The same is true for the SHD I use.

So as an example someone could use Flex channels 1 and 2 to combine a left main and a subwoofer to behave like a single full-range speaker, which is what Dirac Live then treats this as.

To add what you need to do is to update your signal routing. Input 1 is what Dirac will see as the left channel, so you want to send this to both your left speaker and your sub (or left sub if you're using two).

Thank you Ultrasonic! That was very helpful indeed. I completed the setup and measurement and then saved the file, but alas had to go tend to some family business. I'll reengage tomorrow with a hopefully fully operational system.
