Hi all --

I'm thinking of inserting a Flex in between a preamp/streamer and my power amp, which is the only place in this current setup that I could insert DSP. The preamp will do the source-selection and volume control, meaning the signal being sent to the Flex will be less than line-level. Would this noticeably affect the performance of the Flex at all? Would the ADC-DAC cycle cause any noticeable degredation or loss of detail?

Thank you for your advice!

Nate

I've not noticed such a degradation in my projects so far, but if it concerns you, there is always the possibility of leaving the preamp on max volume and using the Flex to control the volume.

Thanks, that's good to hear!

The preamp will be getting audio signal from the TV via HDMI (amongst other sources), so for the sake of not needing to rangle multiple remotes, will be dramatically easier if I leave the Flex at fixed output passing through the volume attentuation from the preamp. Goal is to have a system so easy and intuitive that nobody even realizes that the DSP is happening.
