I'm looking at the Flex 8 as an option to replace my 2x4HD. I have the need for 5 outputs and 2 inputs. My AVR does RCA outputs. Would I need something like a stereo RCA to toslink adapter to input toslink to the Flex 8 to make it work? It's annoying that these don't have two RCA inputs.

Also, is there any news on the pipeline for versions with more inputs? I'd love to get something like the old 4x10 or 10x10 in case I ever upgrade. If that were the case I'd wait a bit longer before buying something. I can make the 2x4HD work if I combine two of the subs on one output with a splitter.

Hello Teeeejay,

there are probably many people sharing your desire for analog Stereo inputs on the Flex Eight and i share your desire as well! I want to listen to my Phono system through the Flex Eight. Not having ADC built in probably has cost and back plane space reasons, we don't know...

Well, I have looked into this a bit more and found an external ADC board at Audiophonics for about 50€ incl. shipment with SPDIF Koax or Toslink outputs to feed the Flex Eight with my Phono Signal. This would at least be a prelimenary solution to get going. The board also has I²S solder points which may open the possibility to internallly connect the ADC board in the Flex Eight by I²S (e.g. sacrificing the bluetooth input).

This is where I stand.
Greetings,
Winfried

I do have an ADC I could use, I just worry that it might roll off on the bottom end. I use my MiniDSP for subwoofers that are playing down to 5Hz.

More than 2 inputs would be good too, though it's not entirely a dealbreaker. I wish they would just put two 2x4HDs into one box. a 4x8HD would be absolutely perfect.

If you already have the ADC this should be easy enough to test?
