Just bought a flex (to upgrade my 2X4HD) from ebay and received it today.   Very excited but of course there's a hitch as I need to install software.  it's the weekend and I can't download any of the software.  Opened a ticket but support is closed til Monday. Is there a way to get the software required or is it the same as the 2x4HD?  Need something to tide me over for the weekend.  Trying to contact the seller for a coupon code or send me packages until it's all sorted out.

From memory my flex eight software download was enabled automatically by the purchase because I had a minidsp account already so just logging into my account got me the software under the "user downloads" section.

If you bought the unit second hand, best to get the seller to organise this for you. Quickest way would be for the seller to dropbox or similar you the software and drivers to get you started, while you wait for (contact minidsp with your serial number) minidsp to sort out your own user downloads section activation.

Its quite an archaic system I know, but anyone else could chime in here and correct me if I'm wrong, which I could be. The way they do things seems to change all the time...

As far as I know it's another software.
Best bet would be to get the software packages from the seller or wait for the support ticket...

Just to confirm that the software you need is different - the Flex series use the new Device Control software that other platforms will be moving to over time.

The new Device Control software for the Flex didn't work at all until my Flex-rca got a lot of puff sounds during music playback all the time. I had to uninstall it and the driver that came with it, and install the same one I used for my 2x4hd - then everything worked again.

That doesn't sound right to me and I'd suggest you contact miniDSP support via the link at the top of the page. There may be an issue with the firmware on your device.

Have installed DC again, but the same problem comes again, it also won't let me install the uac-2 driver, I install it but when I go to check it says "new driver available" - the same procedure every time.
