Can anyone confirm if the IR Codes provided in the MiniDSP Flex Manual are standard NEC Codes?    I"m trying to use this in Savant who has an IR Translation Tool, but I need to know what the input type is to translate to their required format.     Savant provided me a profile for an older MiniDSP 2x4 and their codes dont match what I'm translating from the Documentation.   Maybe the Savant provided codes were learned in from a MiniDSP remote and aren't perfect?

Can anyone confirm if the USB Port on the MiniDSP outputs power whenever the device is powered on, and stops outputting power in Standby Mode.   I'm hoping to create to a 12 Volt Trigger for an Amp that doesn't have any other method for on/off.    I guess I need to get a Multimeter on it, but my initial testing has me questioning if this only has power if the input is set to USB or if a Mic is connected for Dirac.

Wish I had answers for you, but I'm curious if you've made any progress: I would love a 12v trigger from the Flex to my amp somehow. I'm currently turning it on manually each time and it's a drag.

No Tech support confirmed to me that the USB port on the Flex does not output power.   It's a USB Client, not a USB Host.   I'm going to have add some additional equipment to the Home Automation system on this project (Savant) to trigger the Amp separately.   Kind of annoying.    These devices seem like a great value, but I can't imagine adding a simple 12 volt trigger output to them would add to the costs that much and would make them much easier to integrate.

Ugh, thanks for the heads up, I was just about to cut in to a USB cable and splice a 3.5mm end on it. This is a real bummer, the Flex has been great and has enough inputs to completely replace my preamp, but no 12v trigger is proving to be a real nuisance. An IR receiver to respond to the Flex's remote power commands seems ok, but there's always gonna be the chance it gets messed up due to unreceived IR.

I kinda want to open the Flex up and see if I can find some appropriate current from a power LED or something to hijack. Very surprised this wasn't thought of when designing this product, as it's basically a preamp with benefits.

Standard NEC codes although I had to reverse them to get them working, ie. 0xCA35 instead of 0x35CA.

@mkefer I purchased one of these.   tricklestar.com/products/ts1006-12-outle...-advanced-powerstrip   I plug the Flex into the control outlet, and the rest of my equipment (TT, Preamp, power amps) into the switched outlets.  Roon server & a rPi rooExtend box plugged into the always on.  Works great.

Thanks, I actually purchased a similar power strip, but the Flex didn't use enough power to trip the current sensor on it's lowest setting, so I had to split the outlet and plug something else small in (a powered TV antenna did the trick). My amp defaults to off when the power is turned off and on again, so I had to buy a little universal power supply with a 3.5mm plug and use that in the switched outlets for my amp's trigger. It's a bit complicated, but it functions perfectly in practice so far.

A real 12v trigger on the Flex would make this whole process incredibly easy, but I'm glad I got it sorted out.

I've heard others have that type of issue.  This specific strip that I posted a link to works flawlessly with mine.   It has three settings for current level needed to activate it.   Not sure which setting I have it on, but as I said, it works well.  Glad you found a solution, and I agree a trigger would be the best fix.

Hi, could you clarify what you did to successfully convert the codes to CCF HEX format?

For example, the Code MiniDSP publishes for Mute / Unmute is: 35 CA 0C F3.

If I go to this online converter of NEC codes from Yahama, it complains about the spaces.  If I delete the spaces and enter: "35CA0CF3" I get the following output:

0000 006D 0022 0002 0155 00AA 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 05ED 0155 0055 0015 0E47

Using my Command Fusion IR learner, when I manually learn the Mute function from a MiniDSP Remote V2, I get the following output:

0000 006C 0022 0006 0158 00A8 0017 003D 0017 0013 0017 003C 0018 0012 0017 003D 0017 003D 0017 0013 0017 0013 0017 0013 0017 003D 0017 0013 0017 003D 0017 0013 0017 0013 0017 003D 0017 003D 0017 0013 0017 0013 0017 003D 0018 003C 0017 0013 0017 0013 0017 0013 0017 0013 0017 003D 0017 003D 0017 0013 0017 0013 0017 003D 0017 003D 0017 003D 0017 003D 0017 05F2 0159 0053 0017 0E59 0159 0053 0017 0E59 0159 0053 0017 0E59

What would be the inverted form of 35 CA 0C F3 ?

Thanks!

I've run into the same issue in the past and would love to learn the proper fix. I once found specific codes for inputs, etc. but I need these in HEX to use with my Homebridge setup.

While I wasn't able to convert the Hex codes published by MiniDSP to anything usable by my RTI remote systems I was able "learn" the MiniDSP IR Remote V2 commands.

For reference, here's a link to the remote codes published by MiniDSP:  docs.minidsp.com/product-manuals/flex-dl...g-the-minidsp-remote

Posting my results here in case they may be useful to someone else.  All IR Codes below were aearned with Command Fusion IR Learner device,
