It arrived yesterday, connected it and imported the old filters I was using in the 2x4HD... Seemed to work.
Tried to upgrade software: NO SOUND FROM IT ANYMORE.
Switched back to the old firmware: sound again.
Today I try to upload other filters from REW: it doesn't process them and I have to copy and paste all the biquads manually, losing a lot of time...
I read that the "no sound issue" was solved by tech support, so I upgrade again the firmware and Xmos driver: NO SOUND AGAIN.
Life is too short to spend time this way.

In their defense, any firmware higher than 1.25 is labeled as Beta build. I also had sound issues and went back to non-beta versions of the plugin and firmware and everything works perfectly, and I will wait for the next stable versions before updating.

Setup my new Flex 8 today, with the 5.40 usb driver pack.  Worked well, until I plugged in my old usb dac to compare.  Then no sound, the Flex kept dropping out as though the wire was broken, and eventually disappeared from the list of Playback devices in Windows 10.
I think it must be some interaction between the drivers, as it was fixed by uninstalling the Flex in Device Manager (but not deleting the driver), unplugging the usb, and every other audio usb, then plugging the Flex back in, which reloaded the driver, and produced usb sound.
ps. Neither this driver or the console will run under Windows 7.
