Updated Flex to MiniDSP Device Console 1.0.0-beta.5 and no longer have any sound. Submitted a ticket, but would welcome any suggestions for things I may have overlooked in the interim.
 

Update: reverted back to 1.21/1.25 with the old plugin and have everything working again. 

Update: Have been in contact with tech support; sent info and a console program snapshot from when the unit was flashed with beta 5 (with no sound) and they were not able to recreate the issue so far. Just happy to have the Flex working again.

Tech support was able replicate the issue and implement the fix into the latest firmware. Unit is now running 1.4/1.54 with no issues.

Good to know that it wasn't just me. I lost sound, too, but couldn't find the download for the 1.4/1.54 software that you mention, so I went ahead and downgraded the firmware to 1.25 and I got sound again!

The 1.4 dsp/1.54 xmos firmwares will auto download through the beta 5 console app. It wouldn't let go straight from 1.25 to 1.54 without manually flashing a 1.50 or higher xmos version first though.

i've the same problem with 1.53 / 1.3

Where i can download 1.54 (XMOS firmware)  and V1.4 (DSP firmware ) ?

Device console automatic update show : 1.53 and 1.3 but no 1.54 and V1.4 (server bug ?)

In manual download section just 1.53 and 1.3 in Device console migration code
 

There is no direct download. They update online, through the new console software.

i've take a look to the contents of MAC , MiniDSP Device Console.app

i've seen that the bad update is packed with the Beta 5 application (no internet download - update  is local inside console version).
And on this package they have made a mistake : it's 1.53 and 1.3 version and not ne 1.54/1.4 (9 november 2022 version)

So i've found the link inside .app and download 1.54  and 1.4 manually , and download those 2 directory for minidsp Flex;

DSP_STRUCTURES with directory 100 that contain V14 firmware
HW with Directory 27 that conaint XMOS V1.54 firmware.

I've packaged a new unix .app with this directory, rebuilt the unix .app. and deleted old 1.53/1.3 inside console .app Beta 5, mar arm version.

I launch and magical, consol ask me to  update 1.4 and then 1.54 : magical -> sound again in my DSP (V1.3/1.53 was very buggy with sound... no sound)

So i was faster than their support (still no answer). i have to be an hacker, because i use minidsp at a gig tomorrow.

So MNIDSP TEAM : please modify your console BETA 5 Package , and replace 1.53/1.3 with 1.54/1.4 inside .app, you have forgotten to put the new firmware in MAC ARM Beta console version, that are available on some hidden link in your website.

I've found a soluce, but hope my warning help other users that have no sound with 1.53/V1.3

With all these problems, I think I'm not the only one sticking with the older version for now.  My Flex is working fine with the older app/firmware, and there's no claim that the new app/firmware sounds better.  Just wait a while for the new versions to get stable and easy to download.  Then update.

New here, my first Minidsp ever. Just received Flex TRS, unpacked, downloaded and installed Device Console beta6 on my MacBook, connected cd player to spdif/power amp to XLR, updated firmware to MCU 1.54/DSP 1.4 to do the initial testing. NO SOUND? What to do? Reset everything?
 

Contact miniDSP. There seems to be a real issue with these units on Mac...

Thank you for the answer, this was not what I expected from a company like MiniDSP distributing sw with too many bugs. I am in contact with support now and they ask me to perform certain tests. I have also read the other thread with incidents from you and others.
 

I have been in contact with the development team by email, they suggested some actions, i.e. to do a "reset all" and asked about my power amp and cabling, indeed relevant questions.
I powered off all, reconnected Flex to power + cd player. To my great surprise ..... I saw that my power amp was muted! (my power amp has a regulated input gain option).
Sorry MiniDSP guys, all was my fault and my blunder!
Many thanks to the development team for the quick answers, 10 of 10 points from my side.
I have learned to inspect my setup first and read the high quality MiniDSP documentation twice before contacting support again.

So, going back to 1.21 fixed your issues? I'm on 1.54. Ill try going back.
