Hello,
I just downloaded the MiniDSP Device Console to be used with the Flex 8.  With past products in the PEQ section under advanced mode was an option to import a file.  For example one could import a REW eq file for all 10 PEQ slots.  It appears that the MiniDSP Device Console for the flex 8 does not have this option.  Do I have to input all biquads manually now?  Will this feature be supported in the future?
Thanks,
Mike

I for one, like the drag and drop EQ feature, just like FabFilter Q or other modern EQs.

Slightly sluggish GUI, but it's a step forward from no drag and drop!

I just received my Flex Eight and dying to start using it. I redeemed my coupon for the software, but how long does it usually take for this to be processed so I can download the software?

I tripple-checked if i entered te correct code and used the Plugin Group called 'Flex'.

No code required. Just log into your account. It’s in the User Downloads section…

Thanks Tktran303 - this is only when you order from MiniDSP. I ordered through a local MiniDSP dealer. I checked my user downloadssection of course, but no luck (so far).

It's because we just enabled it on a Friday night at 10pm for you... ;-)

Flex Eight isn't to be sold by dealers yet so the REDEEM coupon isn't working for that purpose. Hence the reason. Redeem coupon is instantaneous. You redeedm the Flex (no flex eight available) hence the reason why it didn't show up. Anyway, we'll change this next week.. :-)

have fun,

I've been using the Flex-8 console for the past couple if days and I am very favourably impressed - it's a great improvement on the old DDRC-24 plugin. Great work guys!

Talking if the DDRC-24, the console recognizes it's existence when I plug it in but doesn't seem to be able to interface to it - is there an ETA for the console to support other devices?

I have updated my beloved miniDSP 2x8 to the brand new Flex 8 to attack a pair of active 3-way speakers, the improvement, spectacular, another level.

I am using the USB input as an audio source, I have connected the source to a HUB which also connects to a PC to manage the interface, but I have not been successful. If I connect the PC directly it works perfectly but when I pass both cables through the hub I lose the connection with the control interface.

Is there a way to use the usb port simultaneously for audio input and hot setup?

Sorry if the question has already been answered before but I haven't found anything clarifying in the forum.

Thank you for your support and your products, great.

If your audio source isn't the PC that you are using to run the console, then no, there's no way to achieve this AFAIK. I am able to (for example) run the console on the PC for control and simultaneously run Qobuz in a browser on the same PC for audio, and that works fine, but there is no way I can think of that you can persuade the Flex-8 to accept input from two separate USB sources (for example the PC and a separate streamer) at the same time.

Wonderful to hear that you're enjoying your unit Roberto! :-)

unfortunately you won't be able to have 2 x units connected to one Flex i'm afraid.. Any reason why you're doing that now? Just for tuning purpose?
Maybe best that you just tune with the laptop and use an SPDIF/TOSLINK source for the time of the tuning. You can always go back to USB audio streaming once the tuning is done..

Just a thought.

Glad to hear that you're impressed.. It took a LOT of work.. :-)

DDRC-24 will indeed happen in due time. We're slowly releasing access to units by enabling firmware in the following order:
Flex Eight - > Flex - > SHD - > DDRC-24 - > 2x4HD.

It's in an effort for us to be able to manage correctly all our customers instead of having an onslaught of support questions for what is a very large community.. :-)
Thanks for your patience.
