Have never measured my Flex, but it does run pretty hot, even when I'm not playing anything.

Not sure how the case correlates to the DSP processor temperature, but the chip itself is rated for up to 85C

I just got my Flex the other day and even though I have not measured the temperature yet...this thing gets extremely hot to the touch of my hand/finger. I will come back after checking the temperature.

This is my first post here but saw this post at the top of the page and had to share.

Dear All,

No worries. It's odd but it's indeed on purpose. Instead of keeping the heat dissipated by all the electronics inside the box, we use the "enclosure" as a heatsink to basically "dissipate" that heat. It's a much more efficient way. Same as if we had a large aluminum heatsink.. :-) Chipsets are grounded/connected in such a way on the PCBA to dissipate it directly to the enclosure.

That's the reasoning. No worries, we've however sent few units to the lab for heat/dust testing and no problem. The electronics is all fine.
It's the metal enclosure that gets hot on the top only.

Hoping this clarifies. :-)

Thanks DevTeam - that's reassuring!

I have been enjoying my Flex now for 3-4 months. Love it - great product!
