Howdy,

Been using the Flex Balanced for a few weeks now and happy with it's performance and functionality (yes, 6 channel version would be amazing, i would totally give up the analog inputs for it). I have it hooked up to Hypex amplifier modules and happy with the combo.

The power supply of the Flex is a switching 'wall-wrath'. Would it have a audible/positive effect when this is 'upgraded' to a clean linear power supply? Or would it be a waste of time and money?

Thoughts?

Cheers

Stefan

Hi, I bough an linear power supply to my minidsp 4x10HD and it made an audible difference and I also bought an linear power supply to my flex but unfortunately never tested the original supply that came with it, so sorryI can’t tell the difference with the flex but it should be the same upgrade as with the 4x10HD.

Thanks for your reply Gargoyle - what power supply did you get for the Flex?

I am a fan of Topping and they have a power supply as well. Output is 15V which is a bit too much for the Flex :-(

I don’t know what brand they are, it’s no label on them. A friend of me here in Sweden that builds really fine phono stages order them from China, so the only thing I know about them is that they are quality builds and dead silent.
Sorry that I can’t give better information.

No worries. I also found this one: www.audiophonics.fr/en/hifi-power-supply...5a-25va-p-11375.html

That will do the trick i think.

Ran in to this one, based on a recommendation from a friend. Ordered it and will be testing it as soon as it comes in.

Thank you for the feedback Satefan,
I thought about using one as I had some noise, but it was something else.
