I bought the new flex digi two months ago and about just everything doesn't work as it should.
No audio out on usb, yes if your lucky there is if you pull the usb connector a couple of times and pull the power cord and restarts the Flex.
I bought it with Dirac and as a lot of others no audio when it comes to measuring, I have (after countless of hours) managed to get one measuring done once but with distorted sound.
Both the 2x4Hd and DDRC-24 apps looses connection from time to time and as the icing of the cake I sometimes get the DSP Fail! message in the display.
I´ve tested it on both Windows 10 and Mac Monterey with the same shitty results.
I have been using a Minidsp 4x10HD for about ten years and has been quite satisfied with it except for the same problem with the usb connection, so when I bought the Flex I thought that the usb problem should have been solved after all years BUT NO, it's even worse.
It's a shame that Minidsp ships out a so buggy product like the Flex, the only solution as I see is to leave the Minidsp platform and look for something else. 


 

I'm having very similar problems.  I've not been able to run Dirac because of no audio using USB.  Between my work and my holidays I've not had the time to revisit the issue, but yes, so far, very unimpressed and beginning to think that the unit/product is non-functional.  I was tempted to do a full reset of the unit, but the manual says only do so if you're instructed to do so by miniDSP, so I've not reset it.
I'll try again at the weekend.

Edit: I forgot to say that I have tried 2 different Windows 10 laptops with no USB audio from either laptop, using the bundled USB cable in each instance.  This weekend, I'll update the Flex to the latest V1.25 firmware (from V1.23) and see if it helps.
Some response from @devteam would be reassuring, even if just to say that another firmware update might be required.

Yesterday I finally managed to do sucsessful Dirac measurements with the help of an 5 meter active usb extension cable.
I also to my suprice got sound from my computer trough the usb audio input but that is still very unstable from day to day.
So my advice is to get yourself an active usb extension and try with the Dirac measuring, it seems  that either Umik or Dirac is very picky about the signal.

Yes it’s worth it if you get it to work, and please keep us updated with what result you get.
And if it’s so important with the quality of the usb cable, why on earth do they ship a low grade cable with the Umik.
I forget to mention that between the Umik and the active extension I used a high quality usb-c to usb-a cable, not the cable that came with the Umik.

Gargoyle, you are the man. Finally got the Flex working by adding an active USB cable as you suggested. Very disappointing that it came to this but at least its working. Time to have some fun with it now. Thanks again. 

Hello sorry to bother i am kinda new to this, so i recently bought this cable ( www.mytrendyphone.dk/shop/goobay-supersp...abel-1m-230816p.html ), and then i realised that its not compatible with MiniDSP Flex. My question is what USB cable should i use?

There’s a learning curve to dsp and Dirac and how it interacts with minidsp 

ive used about 20 minidsp prouducts, all of which work flawlessly….. my first one was a pain getting to work and found out my pc was too old then I was doing stuff wrong , a list of things I was doing wrong 

once I learned minidsp , all future purchases and installs I’ve done for others are a slam dunk.

patient’s….. you’ll get there and it will be bad ass.

What do you think about "Device Console (DC)"? Is it any better than MiniSharc?

Have you got any experience from the "Flex Eight"? is the Config flip any faster than the MiniSharc?

I use an Open DRC-DA8 atm. and the Config flip is about 9 seconds and my sound memory is only 1,5 seconds  .

My understanding is that Device Console is just a new software application, not hardware like the MiniSharc.

I don't believe so. You've probably seen this but in case not the latest newsletter includes the statement below:

We're initially rolling out miniDSP Device Console with support for the Flex Eight, but the other members of the Flex family, the SHD series, and the 2x4 HD and DDRC-24 will be following shortly afterwards. We will make announcements on our forum when they are ready, so stay tuned!
