Hi. I'm not getting any audio on my new Flex Digital using the optical outputs.  I've tried it with 2 different optical cables, both of which I know work, and I've tried it on 2 different pairs of active speakers.  The plugin shows an active signal on both the inputs and outputs but there's no audio.  I've updated the firmware but that was no help.  I've no SPDIF cables so I haven't been able to test those outputs.  Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi. Yes, there is a red light. I've reached out to minidsp and they've been supportive and quick to respond. It looks like my speakers, Edifier S3000pro, won't accept the digital signal despite the internal TI DAC in the speakers supporting up to 32bit 384kHz. I guess I need to get another DAC and see if that works. Thanks for your reply.

Have you tried the RCA digital connection? That would prevent you needing an additional DAC and I'd probably have chosen this over the optical connection to begin with personally.

I own a pair of the S3000 Pros myself actually, and they worked with the digital coax output from my SHD.

Thanks Ultrasonic. I have the digital Flex so I only have digital outs. I've yet to try a digital coax but I'll pick one up over the weekend and try again before I get a DAC.

I tried a coaxial cable with my S3000pro (and my Edifier s1000db) and this doesn't work either. With either set of speakers! But the Flex does work with an old Evolve soundbar. So it looks like it's the Edifiers. I've some more testing to do before I know the full story. Thanks.

@Ultrasonic
I did some more testing last night.  Both sets of Edifiers and the Evolve soundbar work via toslink when connected directly to my Philips TV. When I introduce the Flex into the chain the soundbar still works and I can adjust crossovers, mute, etc., but it won't work with the Edifiers.  The S3000Pros apparently support 96kHz via toslink and the Evolve soundbar only supports up to 48kHz, as do the S1000DBs so it seems very odd.  Both sets of Edifiers work via toslink when connected directly to the TV, so they do work.
Is your SHD outputting 96kHz or 48kHz?  I plan on using Dirac Live with the Flex which will downsample everything to 48kHz anyway so I think the best thing to do now before I buy a DAC is to upgrade to Dirac and try again.  Then I'll get the new SMSL DO100 DAC to do a balanced (FWIW) connection to the S3000Pros.
Thanks for your feedback.

SHDs output digital signals at 96 kHz.
