Hi all, I love my Flex, but this new feature "Adding new feature of autosource selection to BlueTooth when Bluetooth source is paired and play button started on BT source" is driving me up the wall,

I connected my phone just so I could occasionaly play through bluetooth, and now every time i use an audio app it switches the input on the Flex, it's incredibly annoying.

Is there any way you can add a simple tickbox to have auto switching on or off please?

Just for now, would turning Bluetooth off on your phone help?

Yeah that's what i do, but it does mean i can't use any bluetooth devices within range of the Flex now, as otherwise it just keeps switching itself.

I think it’s fantastic!!!

i mean , I understand the signal chain on my system and how things operate… I modify my behavior to fit…. So maybe a behavior modification (not to sound rude

it works very well actually….. I would say know your devices better and be the operator!

One person finding something great and another finding it to be hell is a perfect description of a UX design case for something called an "on/off switch"

Demanding a user mold their behaviour around your arbitrary design choice is an example of poor UX design

misconi does same thing with aux triggering, it’s actually pretty cool. I know there is a lot of bickering with a dsp, although the only reason I can understand your-bickering is that the flex is more a head unit then a dsp, it’s a mix of both a source and a go between with an upstream master source….

as a master source, abilities do matter, but poor design….. I suggest not so much if your more about dsp and sound quality vs what else is out there….

if you want a strictly minimum phase source there’s a wagon load of junk that focuses more on convenience vs. dsp power

I genuinely don't have a clue what you're talking about here, it seems off topic.

I'm just asking for a tickbox for the auto-bluetooth-switching added in the latest firmware update, to enable or disable the feature in the plugin menu. That's it. Nearly all of what you wrote above is at best irrelevant and at worst incomprehensible.

An Auto Switch box would require a new firmware.

incomprehensible??? Maybe it’s actually you not understanding me.

it seems like a lot to ask, I’ve got my flex and been cruizin the forums on here and everyone is complaining…. Like take a step back for real and think about what this thing does and compared to other devices similar, this thing kicks ass!

I’m sure mini wants negative and positive feedback as both are equally important. They did something cool I think by making an auto switch.
it’s a cool trigger, so maybe it’s incomprehensible that someone would complain about it.

maybe that’s just me tho. I mean, how hard is it to turn off the BT on your phone…. It’s always on you (obviously) you play with it non stop though out the day, it takes less then a second to switch off BT.

Ya see that switch you want is actually already there , it’s on your phone!  It’s incomprehensible that someone would be so petty to ask a team of engineers to completely re write there software for a switch you already have.

i diegress ,
There is no getting it though to you I suppose.

Its a reasonable request,

Your posts here aren't adding anything to the request or discussion, they're just a bit rude and patronising.

okay maybe so…. Me sorry 😞

but……..  if the tick box is even possible, it seems a lot to ask during a launch.

anyways , sorry if I sounded rude, I like the auto switch a lot and thought the complainant sounded petty…

so we’re rude and petty… lol

moving on…. Sorry again 😌😌

Same here...it would be great if we could turn off the auto-switch to bluetooth or have latest firmware version without this feature.

Gonna chime in here with ... me too.

What a pain in the ass this is. Especially if you connect more than one device.
via BT, and don't know which one is connecting. Oh - and I can be listening on Tos link and have it swtich off multiple times even though devices that can connect on BT are not moving or playing anything.

Needs fixing.

Got around to setting up my Flex with Dirac this week. So far, so good. It sounds dramatically better than my old 2x4 with manual eq/filter settings. Soundstage is improved, I can pick out & follow individual instruments better and I have reduced some bass nulls. However, this Bluetooth auto-switching "feature" is driving me crazy! I can be listening to a record on my turntable and someone will message me on WhatsApp. The Flex will automatically switch from Analog input to Bluetooth. Aarrgghh! Happens all the time. None of the other inputs are auto sensing / switching, so why Bluetooth? I'm going to have to unpair my mobile phone until this is fixed. Which is a shame, because I like listening to music on YouTube every now and again.

I'm also finding this BT auto-switch annoying. If there's no way of adding an on/off switch for this in the firmware I would rather have it off (or have 2 different firmware to choose from).
Turning off BT may work for some, but if you have a smart watch or use headphones for taking calls the BT needs to be on on the phone. The fact that the Flex has BT was one of the selling points for me, so unpairing my phone and the Flex kind of counteracts the variable use of it.

BTW, my Flex shipped with firmware 1.24. At the time of writing this it seems like the latest official version is 1.23. Have no clue what has changed to prior firmware
