Hi miniDSP team,

I was wondering if you would considering adding the feature that allows a Bluetooth connection to be maintained when using other inputs, so that when a signal is playing through Bluetooth, the flex unit can automatically switch to it. Essentially I’m wondering would it be possible for the Flex to act as a USB DAC & Bluetooth DAC at the time.

I believe this feature would become super valuable because most people now stream their music a mobile device. Even if they are using a PC, many people like the flexibility of playing from their phone when they leave the desk, and it’s becomes rather inconvenient to have to manual switch to Bluetooth from the remote every time that happens. An additional selfish use case for me would be connecting my Echo Dot to the flex by Bluetooth, so that I can just ask Alexa to play a song through the Flex without manually changing the input source myself when using it as USB DAC.

One popular device, the Qudelix 5k, can function as a USB DAC and Bluetooth DAC at the same time. It functions rudimentarily like a miniDSP (with worse performance ofc) since it has 10 built in parametric EQ bands, but it has the flexibility of allowing two connections at once. I have attached a picture that explains how such a feature was implemented.
