Hi Everyone,

Version 1.19 is now available and contains lots of updates.
eclipseaudio.com.au/fir-designer/release-notes/

The "IIR Filters" tab now includes all-pass filters and all IIR filter coefficients can be saved to a text file in transfer function b/a format. These coefficients can be loaded into the Advanced biquad section of the MiniDSP plugins, including the "PWR-ICE 2x2 FIR" plugin.

We've also implemented some speed improvements to the calculations and plotting, and fixed bugs in the UI and DC Compensation logic.

Kind regards,
Michael

Wow... Very cool! First software with support for the PWR-ICE 2x2 FIR.. :-)
Anyway to use IIR + FIR?

Hi Everyone,

We have just discovered that FIR Designer 1.19's IIR coefficient output is slightly different to what MiniDSP plugins require in their advanced biquads.

FIR Designer outputs standard transfer function num/den or b/a format which can be verified in signal processing and math packages like Matlab.

However it appears that MiniDSP requires coefficients a1 and a2 to be negated (which is not uncommon with some biquad implementations).

When entering IIR coefficients from FIR Designer into a MiniDSP plugin advanced biquad, be sure to negate (multiply by -1.0) the a1 and a2 coefficients.

We will shortly update FIR Designer to have a more specific MiniDSP IIR coefficient export option.

Kind regards,
Michael
