Hi there,

now that EARS will get famous due to Bob Katz latest review on Innerfidelity, let me point out that I am not happy with the inner shape of the silicon ear, which has a filled up outer concha, preventing to insert modern in-ears correctly (see comment section on that review. I fully agree that the whole shape/form of the EARS' ear is not modeled correctly after a human being).

Simple questions:

- is miniDSP working on a reshape of the silicon ear?

- will this new silicon be available separately to exchange it on existing EARS? (Looks like just four screws per side...)

- how much will the calibration files be influenced? I think it should be quite easy to measure the difference between the current and a new ear. That difference will be the same for all units, so it should be fairly easy to manually edit/correct the files if one changes the ear.

Hi,

I was actually looking for the answer if EARS can be used to test ear-in headphones. Can somebody support me with an answer if the design of silicon ears is preventing to test all kinds of ear-in headphones or only some specific shape?

How about questions raised by Techland in the previous post?

My question was completely ignored by the miniDSP morons, as you can see here. Additionally they did not change anything, EARS is still shipping with insufficient cut out, preventing a correct use of many in-ear models.

Apart from that the system works really great in combination with REW.
