Or is the point of the integrated microphone partially to compensate for it NOT having microphone pass-through?

Not too sure what you mean by microphone-pass through. The IL-DSP will show as bidirectional stereo out, mono in. THe mic goes to USB in of a device unaltered.

To clarify: I mean that if I plug in headphone with an integrated microphone, via 4-pole audio jack, I'd like to use that headset's microphone, rather than the IL-DSP's integrated microphone. So, the microphone signal from the headset would 'pass-through' the IL-DSP.
